Not sure if you have had the interview yet. Let us know how it went.

Remember that the job is a relationship, it has to fulfill both parties. It’s important to let them know what you can bring to them and the team but it’s also important to make sure they recognise that they must also bring something to this relationship and not just the salary. Employers should be able to provide training, knowledge, good working environment, and hopefully a clear line of progression.

Be yourself, it’s you they are interested in. Try to engage well with the interviewer and keep conversations flowing. For any negative, turn it into a positive.

Be prepared and know your worth! Think of questions to ask that show you have done your homework on the business, the interviewer and the role. Think also of responses to the questions they may ask you. Bring copies of your CV or past work etc that showcases your experience and talents. Having back up documentation will help calm the nerves because if you forget something, the paperwork can jolt your memory.

And know your worth. If you think you have the right skills, the necessary experience and if you think you would be the right candidate then believe in yourself. Show them. Don’t be shy or coy and hope they will give you a chance, but prove to them that you are. Value yourself and they will in turn value you.

Take deep breaths, relax your shoulders, paint on a smile and go for it. Good luck with the interview.
